We’ve cooked 576 cakes and grilled 520 slice of bread to find the very best cookers for you. We also used thermal imaging, temperature probes and even rice pudding in our extensive testing programme.
The ceramic hob heats well at both high and low temperatures. There’s a handy flexible-cooking zone on the 60 cm wide hob, which can be extended from the size of a regular hob-ring to accommodate larger pots and pans. The grill is located in the top oven and spreads the heat widely and evenly across the width of the grill pan leaving the toast we tested nicely brown. The ovens distribute heat evenly baking cakes perfectly. Both ovens have fans and are illuminated. And on the control panel, you’ll find a handy digital clock and timer with alarm. The stainless steel finish is hard to keep clean, so watch out for grubby finger marks. It’s only available with a stainless steel finish. Pros: The extra-cooking zone on one of the hob rings, double oven, plenty of room to cook on the hob, very good oven, grill and hob Cons: The stainless steel finish is tough to keep clean
