Neff's impressive D2654X0GB is the best of the integrated, freestanding and built-in hoods that we tested and sets the standard for smaller hoods. Its only 60cm wide but when extracting grease it's just as good as larger and more expensive Island and Chimney Hoods. It's also very good at extracting steam which, for a small hood, is unusual. It will clear your kitchen of cooking odours without making too much noise and can be set up to work in both re-circulation and external exhaust mode. The Neff is illuminated by two incandescent lamps at the front. The grease filters are dishwasher proof and will need to be washed every eight to ten weeks.
